Why We Do What We Do

Insurance is what we sell. But serving people? That's why we're here.

At Mc-Wright Insurance Group, we believe insurance is more than policies and premiums — it's about people. Our work starts with protecting what matters most to you, but our purpose reaches far beyond the office walls. We're here to serve.

Whether it's helping rebuild after disaster strikes, supporting a neighbor after a fire, or simply helping someone understand their coverage so they can sleep a little easier — we do it because we care. Not because it's good marketing. Because it's the right thing to do.

We sell insurance, yes. But more importantly, we sell peace of mind, we sell security, and we sell the confidence that when life gets hard, someone's in your corner.

Who We Are at Mc-Wright Insurance Group

We're a small team in a small town — Belmont, Mississippi, population not-that-many. But we serve clients across three states, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Our agency has been around since 1921. It's changed hands a few times over the years, and each owner left their mark. We carry that legacy forward — not by doing things the way they've always been done, but by honoring the values that got us here: honesty, integrity, and treating every person who walks through the door like they matter. Because they do.

We're also big believers in the independent agent channel. We don't just serve our own clients — we pour into the industry. If we can help another agency work smarter, deliver better service, or adopt a tool that saves them time, everybody wins. Especially the people we all serve.

How We Show Up

Community involvement isn't a checkbox for us. It's just part of who we are. Here are a few of the ways we try to make a difference beyond the office:

Helping Our Neighbors

When storms hit our area — and they do — we're on the ground helping clients navigate claims, connecting people with resources, and doing whatever we can to help our neighbors get back on their feet.

Client Education

We take time to explain coverage in plain English — not to upsell, but because informed clients make better decisions. We'd rather you understand your policy than just sign it.

Supporting Local

From sponsoring local events to supporting small businesses in our community, we believe in investing where we live. When the community does well, we all do well.

Strengthening the IA Channel

We share what we learn. Whether it's tools, workflows, or just hard-earned experience — we help other independent agencies serve their communities better too.
