Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Just ask.

General

Why did my insurance go up?
We hear this one a lot — and it's usually not your fault. Insurance pricing is driven by a bunch of factors that have nothing to do with you personally: claims trends in your area, rising repair and rebuild costs, severe weather, lawsuits, and what's happening in the reinsurance market. Even clients with zero claims can see increases when the overall market shifts. The good news? We can shop it. That's the whole point of working with an independent agency.
Can you shop this with multiple companies?
Yep — that's kind of our whole thing. We work with 20+ insurance carriers, which means we can compare coverage options, pricing, and policy structures side by side. You're not stuck with one company's take-it-or-leave-it offer. We lay out the options and help you pick what makes sense for your situation.

Coverage

Am I actually covered if something happens?
Honest answer? It depends on how the policy is set up. Coverage only works if it was structured correctly before the loss — not after. That's why we spend time going through your policy with you, talking about what it does and doesn't cover, and flagging gaps before they become problems. We'd rather have an uncomfortable conversation now than a devastating one later.
What are Mississippi's minimum auto liability limits?
Mississippi's minimums are $25,000 per person for bodily injury, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $25,000 per accident for property damage — what agents call 25/50/25. Alabama and Tennessee sit at the same 25/50/25 levels. But here's the honest part: those numbers are the legal floor, not a recommendation. One serious accident can blow through $25,000 fast, and whatever the policy doesn't cover comes out of your pocket. We'll walk you through what limits actually make sense for what you have to protect — in plain English.
Do I need a separate wind and hail deductible in North Mississippi?
A lot of policies around here carry one, so it's worth checking yours — before storm season, not after. Wind and hail is the most common homeowners claim in the country, and a wind/hail deductible is often a percentage of your dwelling coverage rather than a flat dollar amount, which can be a much bigger out-of-pocket number than people expect. We'll go through your policy with you, show you exactly what you'd pay after a storm, and shop the structure across our carriers if it doesn't make sense for you.

Quoting

How fast can you get me a quote?
For personal insurance (auto, home, renters), we can usually turn a solid quote around in 1–2 business days. Commercial insurance takes a bit longer — typically about a week, sometimes more depending on how complex the business is and how quickly we get the info we need. We don't rush it just to get a number in front of you. We'd rather take an extra day and get it right.

Billing

Do you offer payment plans?
Most of the time, yes. Most standard carriers offer monthly or quarterly payment options with little to no extra cost. Some specialty or non-standard policies do require paid-in-full, but even then we usually have financing options that can help spread it out. We'll walk you through what's available so there aren't any surprises at checkout.
